Thank you for taking a moment to read my profile. I was born in Los Angeles and mostly raised in the South ~ in Texas and North Carolina ~ where I learned that women are equal to, in some ways the same as, and in other ways very different from men.
I'm kind, smart, honorable, sensitive, funny, stable, healthy and gentle. I have my flaws, naturally; I've been single all these years partly for my own reasons and partly because I haven't met the woman I'm meant to be with. The world is full of riches, but nothing comes close to being close to a good woman.
Some favorite moments, in no order: bicycling in the pitch-black Yosemite night and then beholding the luminous granite mountains... jumping from a high cliff into the Tuolomne River... my niece graduating from college in a sea of Carolina blue robes and then, in the blink of an eye, getting married in the rolling Carolina hills... my 93 year old friend and mentor beating me at Scrabble every 5 weeks for 25 years... Snorkel-trailing a majestic sea turtle in a cove in Kauai... gazing up under the million stars in Red Rock Canyon... the quiet of early mornings... watching the great Rivera in the visitor's bullpen at Dodger Stadium... the courage of NYFD on 9/11... walking in a Carolina pine forest... afternoon showers in Evolution Valley... sitting on any porch... kissing in moonlight... pouring rain and then the shining sun.
I believe that the hand of God animates the miraculous world in ways beyond our knowing--sometimes happily beyond, sometimes painfully beyond. I would tell you what my friends say about me but they are a biased sample and I'm sure you are quite able to come to your own conclusions.
