I was born and rasied on a farm in rural Kansas, so I'm a smalltown girl at heart, but have been in DC for long enough that it feels like home, too. Great job & great friends = no real complaints. Despite this, I often find myself longing for the wide open sky full of stars and crazy summer thunderstorms I grew up with. I'm an ENTP, which explains why I have a lot of half-read books on my shelves but still buy new ones. It also means I'm up for most anything and tend to embrace new experiences. Other bits of possible interest: I'm kind of a sucker for banjos and beards, separate or in combo. I'm perhaps a bit too independent, but more by habit than by nature (e.g., I'm always happy when someone swoops in to do the "man things" but it often doesn't occur to me to ask for help). I have a sharp wit and thick skin -- and usually enjoy others who have the same. Things I'm good at: Delaying bedtime. Making connections. Laughing at myself (and probably you). Baking apple crisp. Avoiding the grocery store. Appreciating nature. Maintaining an even keel. Losing sunglasses. Finding friends. Singing harmony - particularly if no one is listening. Planning trips and then foregoing plans in favor of spontaneity. Navigating. Seeing both sides. Understanding perspective. Withholding judgment. Making spaces beautiful. My guy: Someone who can entertain me with a simple story and cheer me up by finding the humor at those rare times I can't. Ideally, he's out-going, but self-reflective. He truly values his relationships with family and friends; making memories with them is his real joy in life. Confident, highly intelligent, playful and witty, he can captivate an audience but doesn't need one. He's like me, only better, and wants to be my best friend.
