Fun, smart, driven...also fairly silly and sarcastic. My family and best friends can always count on me, and they know that when I'm around its never a dull moment. I love them and miss them a ton since they all live in Northern California for the most part...
I'm a huge foodie and eat a lot of pasta (and burn it off!). I work out on my days off, jog the beach, bike all over the city, but really like hiking and trail running. When I lived in San Diego for grad school I would run Balboa Park every week, I miss it... luckily I'm finding more and more great places to check out near Long Beach. I enjoy beach vollyball, camping, mountain biking, and really any reason to be outside enjoying nature. Movies...I like bloody scary and/or cheesy horror movies, thriller, science fiction, drama, anime, and all the horrible 80's action movies with Schwarzenegger/ Van Damme/Stallone/Willis/Norris etc. I must have seen Weird Science Goonies a few hundred times when I was a kid...
Now on to nerdy stuff. I did my undergrad at UCSB (Physiology, mostly marine), then Barry U and the U of Miami for MS thesis and research. Former teacher and biomedical researcher, now a healthcare professional (likely teach again at the college level). I enjoy anything having to do with healthcare/biology/science/the world around us explained how we know best right now. I love my career and the impact I make now, and the even larger impact I will make in the future...
I love dancing! I dance to hip hop, salsa, merengue, bachata... and country if you give me shots and force me to. My friend/ former housemate in San Diego is a bartender at InCahoots, so "shots and country music" on Wednesdays used to happen often...
