A couple of years ago, I was overweight and always tired. I was working long hours at a desk job and ate junk food out of stress and convenience. I'd gotten up to 230 lbs and my pants size was stretching over 36" waist. I thought that this is what naturally happens to a man as he gets older. I had a physical check up for work, and the doctor told me my health was going in a really bad direction. That night, I came home, took a good hard look at myself in the mirror, and I woke up.
I decided at that moment, that if I didn't do anything about my health right then and there, I never would. I started exercising by doing P90X, training for a marathon, and learning about nutrition. With hard steady work and making healthy food choices, I exorcised the fat off my body. I'd gotten down to 185 lbs and 32" waist pants size and I ran my marathon. But I think I over did it, and got too skinny for my body. My mom thought I was sick, so I decided to start building back some bulk and muscle. I started weight lifting, Crossfit and Kickboxing, and now I'm back up to 210 lbs and 34" pants size, but my body composition has changed and I'm a lot more stronger and muscular. I'm in the best shape of my life.
I'm fit and happy. Heath and fitness have really become an important part of my life. It's helped me to face and overcome personal challenges and made me grow as a person. It's something I continue to learn and do every day.
I tell this story, because it helps to explain who I'm looking for in a person. I'm looking for someone with a positive attitude who's fit and healthy and makes health and fitness an important part of her life too. I want to live in a positive environment with someone who has similar goals so we can support each other, and maybe raise a fit and healthy family someday. To me, if we're fit and heathy with a great attitude, we can do and overcome just about anything together.
I have a steady job, income, and savings so I'm self sufficient. I think a person should have enough money to be able to have options and to be comfortable, but hoarding money or spending myself into debt just to try to impress others are not goals in my life. I really do think that life is about love, connecting with others, sharing life experiences, and growing as a person. Family and relationships are more important to me than objects and possessions. At the end of life, I don't think you take anything with you other than the love and experiences that you gained here, so I think that you should always do your best and make the most out of anything.
I'm pretty easy going and have a good sense of humor. I've traveled a lot, but I still love to explore new places and try new things. I enjoy movies and music, and sometimes I sing and play the guitar. I love photography though I'm not that great at it. I prefer to play sports rather than watch them. I look for the good in things or try to find ways to make it better rather than complain about things.
My bucket list for this year include skydiving, hang gliding, and surfing. If you haven't done those things, maybe we can try them together. If you have, well then maybe you can teach me :) I'd also like to travel to at least one exotic place a year to experience life on another part of the planet.
I'm not looking for fast hookups, or one night stands, but someone I can connect with and have a future with. If you think you may have the same values as I do, and are looking for similar things, please say hello. We could meet over coffee to see if there's a spark of interest. If there isn't, then there's nothing lost. If there is, then wow, are we ever going to have a great time :)
