I race bikes, have a motorcycle, like to snowboard-ski, and generally enjoy competitiveoutdoorsy things (trail running, speed skating, obstacle courses, etc.).
I recently moved to Cali from Chicago to help run a water technology startup company, but my day job is at a biotech consulting firm (analyzing emerging therapies for licensing, acquisition, and commercialization). I also have my own consulting practice which is composed primarily of clients I've carried over from when I was in grad school. Oh, and I started an app company that didn't get off the ground and was absorbed by a Greek firm, so I'm helping them with their US deployment.
Random things I'm good at: Massages, graphic design (sometimes), not sleeping, being devious, playing random sports (curling, anyone?), and a fair number of other things
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food:
Don't really watch too much TV unfortunately. Books are generally non-fiction-philosophical-nerdy classics (i.e. Carl Sagan - 'Varieties of Scientific Experience', Fitzgerald - 'This Side of Paradise', Mih?ly Cs?kszentmih?lyi - 'Flow', Oscar Wilde - 'The Importance of Being Earnest' 'The Picture of Dorian Gray' etc.). Movies are a crap shoot: Moneyball, Fight Club, A Beautiful Mind, Trainspotting, Margin Call, Scott Pilgrim, Hot Fuzz, Transporter, The Social Network, Wag the Dog, Wall Street, Drive, Gone in 60 Seconds...but really I'll watch anything. Music would be altern rock (30 seconds to mars, coheed and cambria, rise against, thursday, bright eyes,....), legit hip hop (common, talib, mos def, etc.), or more chill guitar-related singer-songwriters. Food is really anything.
I really don't have a fixed ideal for who I'm looking for. I enjoy creative people that do interesting things and have well thought out opinions. I'm an idea person and the more ideas I can exchange with someone the better.
