Just someone hoping to prove that nice guys really don't finish last. Looking for uncomplicated connection, with maybe some witty banter and mutual appreciation of good food, good music, and the occasional guilty pleasure of an Apatow film.
I'm new to Match and still trying to get the hang of this. Been resisting for awhile now, but after hearing some positive feedback I figured I'd give it a shot. I'm trying to expand my personal interactions beyond the ubiquity and cliche of LA nightlife so this should be interesting. I've done my tour of Hollywood and survived. Pretty much over the club scene and now prefer more intimate bars and lounges (just not too hipster). I've even learned the virtues of a quiet night at home with a bottle of wine and a Blu-Ray.
I also enjoy trying new restaurants throughout the city, anything from fine dining to exploring new ethnic cuisines or even finding a good burger joint. And some of the best places are hole-in-the-walls that only locals know.
I know people like to say this, but I truly have a wide taste in music (see below), it really just depends on my mood. Driving from Pasadena to Irvine everyday for work, I spend a lot of time in my car so I have to maintain variety in what I listen to. My music library is pretty diverse since I'm not a fan of most radio stations, although I listen to KROQ in the mornings cuz Ralph Garman is hilarious! I try to avoid anything Clear Channel since they're all just repetitive, but the only station that really seems to keep my interest is KCRW with music programs like Morning Becomes Eclectic and Metropolis (oh and the news keeps me informed).
I'm no serial dater and have been in a couple serious relationships, but just can't seem to find someone that fits. You know, that person that shares the same interests but whose differences complement your own. For me it's a person who can be passionate, yet sometimes silly. Someone who is driven but can stop and enjoy life's simple pleasures. Someone who is comfortable in a lil black dress as she is in her ratty old sweatshirt. Someone who I can have a respectful discussion about politics or religion or why there's room for the Clippers in this Laker Nation of ours. Someone who knows everything there is to know about me and is still willing to stick around. Am I asking too much?
