The idea of meeting people this way is a little weird, but hey, can't hurt to try -- I'm not the type to go out and meet people at bars, and I'm a grad student so life keeps me too busy to meet many new people in general. Also, a lot of the things I do when I have free time (hiking, geocaching, fishing, reading, watching TV) aren't really any good as ways to meet people.
It's not a huge priority for me that we're into all the same stuff. I think it's more important that we "click" in terms of personality type -- when you find someone around whom you quickly feel comfortable, you know how nice that is. I like people who are really 'into' the things they're into (whether it's work, school, hobbies, etc.), and people who don't take themselves too seriously. I'm really committed to my studies and work, because I really like what I do. I'm not looking for random hookups or anything like that, but rather a long-term relationship.
A good date for me would include something like going for a long hike, bowling, going to a museum, watching a movie, playing Scrabble, or, hey, even better, just letting you decide -- I'm a pretty easy going guy.
Also, no Steelers fans please. I have standards.
