About me, where to start? I'm short, obviously. Don't let the "few extra pounds" fool you; it's not some female insecurity thing. I'm not average, but not quite plus sized. Fair warning. I'm happy with myself, and I have enough esteem and confidence without being conceited. I'm big on family and friends, but maintain a close knit group for the most part. Music moves my soul, and dance moves my heart. I like all things beautiful, although I do realize that beauty truly is in the eye of the beholder. I'm a picky foodie, but I'll try anything once. However, keep in mind that I am multicultural, so picky is debatable. I like to dress up, but I'm by no means "high maintenance." I'm down to earth and laid back, but I love the city lights and life also.
What am I looking for? I've debated this question for the past few months and have come to this conclusion. I'm looking for the person that doesn't complete me, but instead, compliments my nature and makes me a better person. I want someone that is willing to work towards a serious relationship. I want someone who is willing to make time to cultivate a relationship when time doesn't seem to be found. I would like someone that's as into his family as I am into mine. I work a stressful job, so someone that's not high strung in their downtime is ideal. Anais Nin wrote one of my favorite quotes about what I'm searching for in a partner. She said:
"I, with a deeper instinct, choose a man who compels my strength, who makes enormous demands on me, who does not doubt my courage or my toughness, who does not believe me naive or innocent, who has the courage to treat me like a woman."
Now, some things that I can't settle on. The desire for kids is a must have. It's great if you already have your own, and I'll be open-minded about that. But I want to have my own someday also. Someone that loves life and can always see the positives. I do smoke. I will quit eventually, but for my own reasons and of my own volition. Must get sarcasm and be able to bite back. If you don't like LOTR, HP, SW or ST, you better be awesomeness in a bottle, because otherwise, I'm not sure how well we'll click. Oh, and of course, the standard - honest, trustworthy, kind, loving, adventurous, caring, etc. :-)
