ABOUT HIM & WHO HE'S LOOKING FOR

Someone wise once said “There are millions of people in this world, but in the end it all comes down to one.” Unfortunately, that someone was Kirsten Dunst in "Crazy/Beautiful"... but that doesn’t make the sentiment any less true.

So I am looking for that one.

I proudly consider myself to be a study in contrasts. I was in high school band but I also played middle linebacker. I’m an avid reader but I think I watch way too much TV. I love being recognized but I hate being the center of attention. I’m an MBA marketing geek who loves the proof in numbers, yet some of my proudest moments are when friends have complimented my writing. I consider myself pretty smart yet I have trouble adding 8 and 5 or spelling restaurant.

I may seem like everybody else but I’m really like nobody you have ever met. I honestly love the previews more than the movies, I hate wet meat, I secretly believe Randall’s Island may be haunted, and I worry that if I ever met Natalie Portman we’d have nothing to say to each other. I have worked in the Catskills as a climbing counselor, in Colorado in a ski shop, in NYC at a record label, and in Las Vegas in a hotel-casino.

I am looking for a partner in the truest sense of the word. Someone who’s equally up to driving three hours at the drop of a hat because we heard there’s a great new hotel upstate or walking three blocks to check out the new wine bar. We could have just as much fun yelling to each other over the guitars at an outdoor concert or sitting quietly for hours on the couch together reading. You’ll make me laugh and you’ll make me think; you’ll challenge me and call me on my BS.

And the next time I quote Kirsten Dunst you’ll make fun of me for days.

Dear Match: My feelings on animals are not this cut and dry. I mean, what if I adore the Black-Capped Chickadee but think the Pileated Woodpecker is kind of obnoxious?
