I have a somewhat childish sick sense of humor and enjoy the same. Humor is key. May sound cliche but it's still true.
If we are going to get along then I really would prefer someone who I can make laugh and vice versa.
I left my job to go back to grad school. I study Epidemiology and Policy and absolutely enjoy enjoy it.
I played in an orchestra for over 12 years and teach little kids music in the summer months.
I'm a bit of a film nerd and my ideal would be open to nerding out w/me sometimes. It's ok if you list Shawshank Redemption as your favorite film (not that its a bad movie at all) but Id like my partner to be open to some Malick and Bergman every now and again. I'm hooked on a few trash TV show as well. You'll never have to watch them, don't worry.
Unpretentious movie/music/lit and science nerds are some of my favorite people to drink and chat with.

Fav Book: East of Eden, Lonesome Dove, The Devil in the White City, Cannery Row....
A visit from the Goon Squad, Cosmos (Carl Sagan is awesome)
Some Fav movies: Ran, Raging Bull, Nights of Cabiria, Flirting, The Seventh Seal, A Prophet, In the Loop, the 400 blows.
If were talking film directors then I like Nolan, Malick, Kurosawa, Traffaut, Bergman. That sounds highbrow but I'm all over the place here. I like the good stuff and the not so good stuff.
Shows: Mad Men, Strangers with Candy, Arrested Development, happy endings. I have a couple trash shows on Bravo that I'm hooked on.
Music: Former Orchestra nerd so my motto is that a house filled with Brahms on Sunday is good enough church for me. I grew up a bit catholic and it was fine but I'm not very religious.
more modern artists that I'm into: Beach House, The weeknd, okkervil River, Interpol, Q-tip, deer hunter.
Food: I eat everything. Fresh is best.
I do love good coffee, a good Mole and well-made mojitos.
Decent eating habits and an active lifestyle are things I like in a
partner.
