i am not a needy diva, but i definitely need someone who is going to take care of me. in nearly every aspect of my life i play the provider or caregiver so my partner needs to bring balance into my life. small things like driving, getting me a glass of water, or putting lotion on my legs after a shower goes a long way to making me feel cared for!
i guess my personality can best be described as a sassy introvert. i'm a bit quiet in the beginning but once i get comfortable i've definitely got a mouth on me.
technically i'm an administrator at a college but i consider myself to be an educator. i don't want to sound so hokey to say that it is my calling but rather, my work is an expression of my politics, worldview, and values. you don't have to feel the same way about your work, but hopefully there is something you care about beyond just having fun or making money.
i'm looking for a partner. someone who is an equal or inspires me to do/ be better. i'm attracted to men who are intelligent; good with their hands (fixing stuff, giving massages); socially conscious; and feel comfortable thinking about our society, culture, race, class, and gender.
stuff i love:
drinks: fruity water; (frozen) tart lemonade; diet coke, white wine, lambic, ginger ale (especially on the plane!), and guinness
music: love most music esp hip hop
books: i used to read a lot but stopped reading for fun during grad school. getting back into it. one of my nerdy things is reading books on education, race, and gender. right now i'm finishing up Game Change and just started Greg Palast's Billionaires Ballot Bandits. I also have a soft spot for Calvin and Hobbes (Hobbes is so cute when he is a stuffed animal!) and Boondocks as well as graphic novels (not the action-type ones though).
sports: no teams and don't catch any games on TV but i LOVE to go to games for the experience. i was born raised in San Diego so if i'm not rooting for the Bay then i'm rooting for SD (even though, again, i really, really don't follow sports). sometimes i ask questions to follow along, usually i just google it on my phone.
i love the end of my run. i ran my first half marathon a few months ago! still running and my favorite part is the end. :)
