The quick summary: I'm upbeat and funny, and try not to take myself too seriously. I generally take the long view in most things (recognizing that everything is temporary) and I'll look for the bright side of any situation unless it's totally irrational.
I'm independent financially and personally and I have a great network of friends and family, but that doesn't mean having a special person in my life wouldn't be even better. I am widowed, so I have two minor children (9 and 11) at home and they are my first priority, but I want to make time for my own happiness, too, and I think I have a lot to offer in a relationship.
Life philosophy: Happiness is a choice. I've learned that despite the best planning, life will occasionally throw you twists you can't avoid, and that instead of fighting it, it's better to focus on finding a reaction that is productive and graceful.
Interests: I love travel, cooking, good books, film, theater, music. Sushi is my favorite food, hands down, although I'll cook / eat almost anything. I love to entertain as much as I like to go out.
