Sooo... here goes nothing. This is my first visit to a dating site, so I appreciate your patience as I try to update my profile. I just realized that I missed about five boxes when I started this last week. Hopefully this will give you a little more info about me.
I can't honestly say that I know what I'm looking for, but I've been told that when I find it, I'll "just know." At least that's what my parents have told me, and they just celebrated their 47th anniversary.
A little about me: I am mostly a no frills kind of girl... I prefer garage sales to the mall, a weekend camping trip to a weekend in New York, saving for a mission trip instead of a hot tub, and spending a Friday night at Six Flags Frightfest with my niece and nephews instead of at Lucas Park... I could go on, but don't want to bore you quite so soon. Material possessions and money don't really impress me - an intelligent, respectful gentleman that can make me belly laugh will win my heart! Don't get me wrong... I couldn't live without my BCBG jeans, and of course what girl doesn't enjoy putting on the little black dress and having a nice dinner and evening out on the town? I'd just be more impressed by the guy that leaves a random thoughtful post-it on my windshield than a four course dinner at the Melting Pot (ever been burned by that splashing grease)?!?
I was born and raised in St. Louis (Lutheran South - save you the question) , graduated from Mizzou in '95, and spent the next few years traveling as an RN. I lived in Anchorage, Salt Lake, LA, Washington DC, Palm Springs, ... but eventually found my way home. I realized that home is where my family is. I miss the mountains, but I have not yet been willing to make the trade. I am extremely close to my parents, my older brother and his wife, and their three kids. They are my most favorite people to spend time with.
I would consider myself a warm, kind, independent, intelligent and free spirited woman. But can you really describe yourself in a bunch of adjectives? I enjoy outdoor activities and frequent Queeny Park (running), the Katy Trail (biking), and Creve Coeur Park (roller blading) - which is still a health hazard for me - seriously, can ANYBODY out there stop on those?!? I also love Sunday mornings on the deck with coffee and a good book. I find that I laugh at myself often, and can have fun even in the most non-ideal or simple circumstances. A wise woman once said - "Never be bored, and you will never be boring."
I guess I'm looking for that special someone that puts a smile on my face, and makes everything just a little bit better - be it staining the deck, biking to Hermann, or having a Just Dance 2 showdown - the guy that will always have my back, even when I'm sure he'd rather strangle me.
