I have been told I am one of the sweetest people you will ever meet. Don't think that is too far off if I do say so myself...ha.
I am also witty, energetic, confident; a positive thinking gal who tries to see the good in every situation. I despise drama and avoid conflict if at all possible, though I will not be walked on and so that "sweetness" may temporarily disappear. " I ain't got no time for that!" LOL I am introverted until you get to know me. I like to laugh and especially appreciate a dry sense of humor and sarcasm. I am a good friend...a good listener and source of support.
I love, love, love to travel...have been to 48 states so far, missing Alaska and North Dakota.National Parks while traveling cross country have provided great vacation stops for us. My passion is photography, especially black and white, including developing/printing in the darkroom and I enjoy scrapbooking our trips and children's life events so that we can actually enjoy the pictures I take. I love exotic places too. I am open to new things, more now than ever, as I have learned life is way too short. I would love to travel overseas.
I LOVE MUSIC...it gets in my blood. I like most types...not too much into country or rap though. Music is an escape from all my troubles. I love to dance as well although to the Xbox (Dance Central) seems to be the only dancing I have done lately.
I am family oriented and still enjoy visiting with friends I have had since grade school, high school, and college as well as past and present coworkers; spending time with them individually as well as with their families. I love to have cookouts etc/ to entertain.
I was raised on a tobacco/cattle farm. I grew up "Mayberry" where you knew who your neighbors were and you respected your parents. I was happily married for 19 1/2 years, having a spouse who shared responsibilities with me, from diaper changes to getting them to their activities, to cooking and cleaning. Life is so much nicer when you just get the job done. He passed away a little over a year ago. I miss him alot. He was my best friend. He would not want me to be unhappy or lonely. I loved our life and would love to find someone again. I believe that is possible. I have 3 great kids; all very active with sports, Scouting, and dance. so I am very busy but I have a wonderful support system of family and friends who are helping me raise them and allowing me some free time.
I am a great cook. Mostly into healthy eating these days so no fried foods in my kitchen. Love to try new recipes when I have the time and old favorites when I don't. Love it when I have help in the kitchen as well.
Enjoy biking and hiking; dancing, movies.
I am independent but miss male companionship. I would like to find someone who is excited to see me if we've been apart for days or just a few hours. I want to leave work at work and focus on my significant other/family when I get home...with a brief how was your day summary from everyone. I am pretty intellligent and enjoy thought provoking conversation... I believe there are two sides to every story and try to see the other person's point of view. I will play devil's advocate as well.
I like private jokes. and I appreciate impromptu hugs; love to see that glance from across the room, that connection, with that special person that makes anyone else in the room vanish. I like the quick phone call or text that lets me know you're thinking about me. I am a bit old fashioned and like the guy to take the lead. Like a "gentleman" with great manners. If you wink and I wink back, hopefully you'll take the lead again and send an email to start the conversation. Please respect the age and distance parameters.
