Who am I? I am someone who really does not like talking about myself. In fact, it makes me uncomfortable. But, when forced to describe myself (which is what Match requires!) I would say that I am fun, and funny; energetic and smart; at times a bit intense but always willing to kick back and enjoy an evening with friends or family.
I am a dedicated mother and a loyal friend. I have two boys that I'm crazy about and I love every single minute I have with them. I am a social person - I enjoy being with my friends doing just about anything. In short, isolation is not my cup of tea!
Admittedly, I have a hard time sitting still because I always feel like there is something to do, but I'm working on learning to just sit and enjoy the quiet! When I'm not sitting still and appreciating the quiet, I love dancing around the house to intense techno music (mixed by my son) and singing at the top of my lungs to my favorite country tunes - much to the chagrin of my kids! To split the musical difference, I have to admit that I count Hootie and the Blowfish as one of my all time favorites and I know all of the words to all of their songs! While I don't do it as often as I might like, I love live concerts; where better to dance around and sing and not get looked at like you're a crazy person!
I appreciate an amazing meal out almost as much as I appreciate a night of hotdogs and s'mores over the fire pit with my kids! I love to cook - and no, I do not consider hotdogs and s'mores over the fire cooking - but I also really enjoy trying new restaurants and types of food. Growing up in the South, I wasn't exposed to many different types of food (Mexican and Italian were about the extent of it) but DC has so much to offer and I've barely scratched the surface. I think that there is something exciting about finding a new place that offers amazing food and a great atmosphere! I also really enjoy revisiting those classic go-to places I've found for sushi, Korean BBQ, Indian food and breakfast at the diner around the corner from my house!
I'm interested in current events and really enjoy public policy. Alternatively, I am a closet reality tv fan (but shhh, don't tell anyone)!
I also consider myself an adventurous person and I have a long list of things I still want to try. Thus far, I've driven a race car, been skydiving and tried flying trapeze, which I have since taken on as a regular activity. But I also just want to enjoy some of that quiet time I'm working to appreciate.
So, whether its lounging on the sofa or rock climbing, I'm hoping to find someone who wants to share in those adventures or non-adventures as the case may be! I'm looking for someone who is looking for a partner and a friend -- someone who enjoys life and is ready to find that certain someone to share in that joy.
