I'm a believer in instinct. If I get an excited gut feeling about a guy, I know there is something special there. If he can hold me, and I feel protected and safe, that is a good sign. When a guy is courteous to those around him and to me, I respect the person he is. If I'm perfectly content doing absolutely nothing with him, he's special.
I think the main component of a successful relationship is commitment from both people involved. Relationships end when either one or both give up or don't want to try anymore. Maintaining a relationship requires effort and work from both people. You cannot be complacent or take the person for granted, which I have been guilty of in the past. This can be hard to do, but if you value a relationship, I think you put the work into it that is required.
In a man, I'm looking for a Christian who values family and friends, is honest, hard-working, compassionate, fun to be around, respectful, intelligent, and someone who I just click with and with whom I can be myself. I want someone who keeps their word, in the big and small things.
