I moved to the Asheville area this March from Upstate NY. I am really excited to be in the area and looking forward to exploring. I like to hike, or perhaps it is more like take a walk in the woods on a trail with my dog :). I like to kayak and am waiting for the weather to warm up a little bit and to find some good flat water spots as I am not a white water person. I am interested in starting to bike again and will be looking for a new bike this spring.
Family is important to me and is one of the reasons I moved south. My folks are in VA and younger brother is in Wilmington, NC. My older brother is in Austin, TX and I have promised his girls I will come for a visit this year. That and a trip to RI for a week should round things out nicely this year for some relaxation!
I was a librarian for almost 20-years and worked at some pretty interesting places and then this March, I took a career leap and am now working in financial services. I am pretty excited about this move because I really believe I can help people improve their financial situation.
I am a college hoops fan. Since I grew up in the Syracuse area, I remain a 'Cuse fan, and then, I went to Carolina for graduate school so am a fan as well. Now that SU is moving to the ACC I will be able to see them play. I love March Madness and fill out a bracket each year. I have not had a TV for a number of years for various reasons and am looking forward to getting one this year so I can keep up better and perhaps have a little more of a chance. :)
