Generic statement: I'm looking for a friend and confidant, someone with whom to navigate the bad metaphors of life, and someone who wants to make the world a better place with me.
Less generic: I'm unapologetically geeky (my dissertation is on dystopian film and literature), which any potential partner would either have to share or at least tolerate (derisive eye-rolling does not count). Ideally, my partner would be even geekier than me, because my computer skills are stuck in 1999, and there has to be balance in a relationship.
While I enjoy going out sometimes, I mostly like to stay in with a few close friends. I work half days most weekends, so my free time is spent doing what I love (and what relaxes me): reading, writing, holding discussions, painting (badly), listening to music, and watching TV.
I'm not a big video game person, but I can appreciate that as a hobby--I won't play with you, but I'll happily commentate over your shoulder if you'll put up with my occasional fangirly squee. Like I said: Balance.
