I recently took a trip to Alaska to visit some friends and on the last day of my visit we went on a long hike out along the coast. After a couple hours of hiking through dense forest and wet meadows filled with lupines, we reached our destination; a rocky point overlooking a bay full of seals, sea lions, and breaching humpbacks. With us we had brought some leftover thai food, a bag of mint milanos, and a couple of beers. As I was sitting there looking out on the bay, passing a tupperware of thai food back and forth between some of my best friends and sipping on a beer, I thought, "it doesn't get much better than this." If there isn't something in this scenario that you appreciate than I'm not so sure we'll get along.
I have always had a sense of wanderlust and have spent a good amount of time either traveling, working, schooling, or just living in cool places. I've been in Santa Cruz for over a year now and though I still crave adventures to far off places, I am finally feeling pretty settled. I love living here and experiencing everything the region has to offer. Being by the ocean makes me feel grounded and content.
I am an independent but social person and can just as easily enjoy having some down time alone as I can getting crazy in a big crowd. People tend to tell me that I have a calming personality and make them feel comfortable with themselves. This makes me happy. My friends and family mean the world to me and I do my best to be a good daughter, sister, aunt and friend to the people in my life. In my free time I like to hang out with friends, read, go on adventures, find awesome happy hours, enjoy the sun, and go snowboarding and surfing. I'm a pretty good snowboarder and a pretty lousy surfer.
