I'm Heather. To tell you a little about me:
I consider myself a pretty grounded person in my own unique way. ;) I can be very bohemianisque at times and at the other end of the spectrum be ultra sophisticated in the same week. I own my own business in the health/wellness industry and love what I do. While it keeps me very busy, it is very fulfilling and fortunately I am in charge of my own schedule to be able to make extra time for myself as needed. Always important to make time for play!
I really enjoy having a good quality life and work hard to keep my friendships positive. I enjoy feeling good from morning to night. Reading a book called The Power of Habits right now in fact. I am a strong, perceptive, confident female but VERY compassionate, understanding as well as affectionate.
I was born and raised in St. Louis and relocated here 7 years ago. Many, many positive things have come from taking this path to the south. Baton Rouge may not be the best city to be single in but it has certainly been good for me in many other ways. Good people! I feel that living in southern Louisiana has made me a better person in fact. I miss some things about a bigger, more metropolitan area, but for the most part I am content-except for the dating part! Lol
I'm easy to be around, but sometimes can be a little reserved at first. I enjoy being around someone that can really make me laugh. I know everyone says that and it sounds almost cliche in these profiles, but it's really true! We all need to laugh :) Whats life without humor?
I suppose if I were to list one of my big interests is competing in figure competitions. Took this year off, but am gearing up for the spring season. Im still a rookie at it tho. It's not easy, but one of the things that I love about the process is that it not just improves my strength in mind and body, it raises the bar in ALL areas of life.
I have an adventurous side as well. For instance, I went backpacking in Thailand by myself for a month earlier this year. Some of the pics I selected are from that trip (like the tiger, snake and Muay Thai boxing). I have been on several cruises as well as Engalnd and France. That's it on the worldly travel this far. Want to do more. A lot more!
Naturally I would love to stumble across a hot, passionate long term connection on here, but finding friends is just as important to me as well right now. Would be nice to have someone to grab sushi with on a Tuesday night or even just walk the lakes on a Sunday. I beleive in a "slow burn" process anyway :).
Note: I am totally willing to pursue something out of state or even out of country. There are lots of people in the world! I have done the long distance thing before and it actually worked very well for many reasons. Had its challenges, but everything is workable If your willing to color outside the lines. I'm a transplant to Louisiana and a lot of the things that are deeply important in this culture just haven't been a part of my traditions. Seems to make me a bit of an outsider here in some regards! I do, however, have a whole WORLD of interests, people I want to learn from and places I don't just want to see, but experience.
I wld expect a good match for me would be someone that is extroverted, has a lot of friends, is patient in nature, thougtful, motivated, upbeat and diversified in interests and opinions. How does all that sound??
