I have been told that I speak with my heart in all I say and do. I interpret this to mean that I am genuine and passionate about life. I am passionate about: laughter, my two awesome kids (ages 19 and 16), music of all kinds, writing poetry and song lyrics, singing in the shower, singing in my car, friends, dancing, good food, good wine, reading, my dog, chocolate, Zumba, and my students…. And so much more. Not necessarily in that order.
My friends describe me as kind, compassionate, funny, clever, witty (with a twisted sense of humor), smart, honest, creative and genuine. I am a romantic and love to find creative ways to express my feelings. I am good at making a short story long, but since it is often funny, my friends don’t usually mind. I am 45, but most people usually guess 35. I am innately curious and I always want to learn about new things. I am an expert Googler (and, apparently, a creator of new words :) ) I am discovering all kinds of things about myself that I had forgotten. I have recently begun writing again. It is just poetry and song lyrics for now, but I’m sensing a novel or screenplay is just begging to get out…..someday. I am teaching myself to play the guitar via internet. I am not Lita Ford yet, but have great hope!
Besides camping, I have not been into lots of outdoor activities in the past, and I pretty much throw like a girl, but I am willing to try just about anything as long as a bungee cord is not involved and you have patience and a good sense of humor. I like to watch most sports live, but my favorite is Steelhead Hockey.
I am a first grade teacher and love that I get to be a part of the learning process for the kiddos in my class. They all become a part of the family that we create in my classroom and I am proud of the fact that they come back year after year to visit me. I am always amazed by the things they do and I learn as much from them as they do from me.
I have been divorced for one year after being in a marriage for 20 years. I have put quite a dent in the Netflix library and while my dog and I thoroughly enjoy snuggling while watching a good romantic comedy or action packed thiriller, we have both agreed that we are okay with seeing other people. I am not looking to sail down the wedding aisle wearing white, right now, but would love to sail to warm beaches somewhere (or anyplace new, really.) I am not looking for hook ups. I am looking for friendship, someone to talk to, to hang out with, to help me celebrate the big and little victories in life and to see where our adventures take us.
I am looking for someone who can laugh with me and at themselves. A good sense of humor is a must. I am looking for someone who can engage in witty banter, and can have good opened-minded discussions about many topics and challenge my way of thinking in a respectful way. Actions are much more important to me than material things. If you have even a little bit of a romantic side to you, I will be drawn to you. I would like someone who enjoys spending time in creative environments involving music, art, etc. Someone who likes the atmosphere of downtown food, dancing and concerts, but is also happy to have a movie night at home, or a day of outdoor fun followed by looking at stars while around a campfire. I am looking forward to writing the next chapter in the novel of my life. Will you be the one to write it with me?
