I am a down-to-earth woman looking for a man who enjoys good conversation, a little bit of romance and fun. I am the kind of woman who can pretty much fit in wherever I go, whether it is the local sports bar to watch a sporting event or a party for socialites and intellectuals. I enjoy meeting new people and having new adventures.
I've always been one to walk off the beaten path. Though I grew up in New York City, I had my scuba license by the time I was 23. Teaching afforded me the time in my twenties and thirties to spend entire summers traveling. I took a cruise down the Yangtze River in China and was one of the first to see the construction of the Three Gorges Damn, soaked in almost every major bath in Japan and camped out in the Sahara Desert in Morocco...with swarming locusts, I might add.
Though I have two six-year-olds and life has slowed down a bit, I continue to live life adventurously. I may not be able to steal away to Africa to go on a real Safari, but I can go to Busch Gardens and experience its wonder with my children. Plus, I now need no excuse to be silly in public. I truly believe we should push ourselves to experience new adventures as often as we can. Those adventures do not always have to be literal. I love reading and getting lost in distant lands and experiencing lives I never could have imagined. I'd love to find a man who shares my passion for a good book, an amazing film or an extraordinary play.
I am looking for a man who wants to continue exploring and learning with me. Though I crave adventure, I also value quality downtime. It would be wonderful to meet someone who doesn't mind curling up on the couch on a Saturday night to watch a movie - occasionally with kids. Obviously, he would have to like young children. Ideally, he has one or two of his own. Because I love and value family very much, I moved to Florida from New York five years ago to be closer to my parents. I would like to meet a man who shares the same commitment to family as I do.
