I moved to DC from South Carolina with the intention of staying for two or three years. That was almost ten years ago. While there are certainly things I miss about home (parking for free...family and friends...good BBQ), I love it here. I am one of the few people who commute out of DC for work. If you have to commute, though, going against traffic is the way to go. While I've often been accused of working too much (my job sometimes requires long, odd hours), I would welcome something (or, more specifically, someone) else to distract me. When I'm not working, I enjoy running, yoga, cooking, football (go Gamecocks!), hanging out with friends and trying new restaurants (ask me about my most recent New Year's resolution). I enjoy listening to music...all kinds but I'm particularly fond of country music (and obsessed with KGSR...check it out). I like to read, and when it comes to newspapers I prefer the real thing...no online version for me. And coffee...I love coffee. I'm independent (though I'm a firm believer that chivalry is not dead) and thoughtful...stubborn (though not annoyingly so) and competitive. I tend to be a "glass is half full" kind of girl who likes to laugh. I've also been told I'm a prolific texter. If you're smart, easy-going, considerate and motivated, I'd love to get to know you. Extra points if you believe BBQ is a noun, not a verb and if you cheer for the SEC.
