Hi, my name is Christy. My number one goal is to live a full and happy life. I think that means embracing the ups and downs and making the most of everything. I'm not perfect, but I never want to stop learning how to become a better person. I am a work in progress, and I'm still becoming who I am :)
I sometimes have wicked frizzy hair but I make up for it with a genuine smile. I am totally corny and sarcastic but have an adorable sense of humor. I tend to be a bit on the Pollyanna-ish side... sometimes to a fault. But I like that part of me, and I hope I never lose it!
I work in the field of human services, and I love my job. In the past year or so, I have become practically addicted to Zumba and do that 6 times per week. It's so much fun!!! I just got my Zumba instructor license on March 17th, so I'm really excited about that.
I really enjoy all kinds of music and it's become really important to me. I enjoy going to concerts and have even been writing my own stuff! Fun fact: I wrote the lyrics to a song called "Someone" by a Canadian band called Long Story Short. Check it out on YouTube! Want to know more about it? Ask me!
I'm actually full of contradictions... in a good way, I'd say. I'm kind of an introverted extrovert if that makes any sense. I'm a mid-westerner living out East. I'm old fashioned in many ways, but also very open minded. I lean to the left on the political spectrum, particularly on social issues, but I believe in hearing out all sides of an issue and finding commonalities. There's so much more about me to get to know, but I need to leave a little mystery! :)
It's important to me to meet someone who is above all personable, compassionate, creative, and caring. Imagination and humor are crucial, but equally important are traits like sensitivity and understanding. I find intelligence and quick whit attractive and love to be around people who are always curious and open to new learning. I have an affinity for genuine people. Fake is a real turn off. I admire men who are family oriented, and think it's really attractive when a guy loves being around kids. It's important to me that a man has his own hobbies and interests. I would love to share and support each others interests, but at the same time I would also like to keep a balanced sense of individual identity. I hope that my next relationship is going to be a wonderful, healthy partnership where both people work to do whatever it takes to make life awesome no matter what comes our way.
For starters though, I'd just like to meet interesting people and make some great friends and see how things go.
BTW... the drinking question was hard for me to answer because I really don't drink alcohol very often at all. I'm not against it, but it's not something that I typically center activities around. So, I put social drinker because every blue moon, I order a fun, girly drink. I don't mind if other people enjoy drinking, but if it's important to you to have a drinking partner, I'm more of a Diet Coke with lemon girl! :) But believe me when I tell you, I'm tons of fun on caffeinated beverages! I would like to learn about wines. So far I'm a fan of Riesling! I'm a noob.
