I have been in California for 20 years now and absolutely love being here. I cannot see myself leaving. The fact is, there is so much to do here and on a 'blue sky day', there's no place better in the world, with the mountains and the surf within 'spitting distance' of one another.
I absolutely love to cook (and to be cooked for). My favorite food is Italian; however, I have not found too many good Italian restaurants in the Los Angeles area. I love seafood (Sushi included), salad, and will never say no to a good steakhouse.
I enjoy travel - both for work and pleasure. Have been all over the US for work generally going to New York, Minneapolis, Florida, San Francisco, Seattle, Toronto, etc.. For pleasure, I enjoy going to my house in upstate New York where cell phones and blackberries don't function and it's quiet - where the woods are green, the lake is warm, and the nature is "everywhere". I also enjoy Florida as well as Colorado - where I go skiing every year.
As for fun locally, I really enjoy movies (don't know many people who don't like movies), but I generally like all genres. I have a large collection of DVD's and Blu-Ray movies, approximately 3000, and have no problem kicking back and throwing in a movie that I haven't seen in a while and just enjoying an evening.
I'm looking for someone who likes the same sort of things that I enjoy - someone who isn't afraid to learn to ski if they haven't skied before (take the plunge, it will be worth it.) I want to meet someone who likes good food and likes to have a meal sometimes cooked by their partner, because I like to cook (I feel that preparing a meal, eating a meal, and cleaning up from the meal is the one thing that I actually start and finish during the day, as there always seems to be more 'work' at work the next day and that having a good meal gives me the feeling of "finishing" something during the day.)
I cannot say that the above is the 'complete me', but is good in a nutshell for the time being until I figure out what else to write.
