I'm a really easy-going, super optimistic who loves living in LA. I really enjoy getting out and exploring the city and taking advantage of all the great stuff there is out there. I'm super open-minded and adventurous, so I love trying new things. If you have something new to teach me, or you'd like to come explore the city with me, I can't wait to hear from you.
Right now, I'm a hard-working PhD student. Some day, I really hope I can be a professor doing research and teaching. I have worked in education in the past, and the thing I love most is being able to help people achieve their goals. Before I came to LA, I've been really lucky to have a lot of life experience to draw on. I spent a lot of the last 10 years living and working abroad. I lived for a year or two in Russia, Scotland, Japan, and France, but there are still a million places I'd love to go. I love travelling. Korea is next on my international list, but I still need to go see the Grand Canyon here!
With travelling a lot, I was super fortunate to have tried a lot of amazing foods, and so I spend a lot of my time here cooking delicious things for myself. I do a lot of Asian food, but of course I love all sorts of cuisines, and I'm open to new cooking challenges! A friend introduced me to Korean food a while back, and I've been obsessed with soondubu ever since. I have my own recpite perfected now, though, along with pajun and chap chae, so I'm in good shape. I love making Japanese food too, of course! I'm not a bad baker, either, so I hope you like pies and cheesecakes. I can never justify making them for myself, so I really need someone to help me finish enjoying them!
I'm also a really active person. Of course, LA is amazing because it's like springtime every day, and so I'm out running or riding my bike at least a little every day. I'm super excited to hike and explore the mountains around here, too, so if you know any good trails let me know. Cycling is my main thing, though, and so I am a bit bike-crazy.
I'm also not bad with foreign languages. My undergraduate degree was in Russian and I picked up a fair bit of French while I was there, but my best language is Japanese because I need it for my research. I spoke a lot living there, but now I'm trying to read old philosophical books for school. Chinese characters are difficult, though! If you can teach me a new language, or help me with kanji, I can't wait to hear form you.
I am good at keeping my apartment tidy as well. I always stay on top of that!
