Getting to know somone in person is what I'm used to. I don't think it's necessary to know everything about a person right away. Learning about each other slowly is fun! But, this is part of online dating, so here are a few things about me:
I've jumped out of a plane and would do it again. I'm going to take a hang gliding lesson in the near future.
Music is very important to me. I go to concerts A LOT! My favorite band is Dream Theater and my last concert as of today (12.10.12) was Barry Manilow and he was GREAT!
I believe exercising compassion and empathy is crucial to having a happy life.
It's fun to be optimistic and also to stand your ground and not take any (bleep!).
I don't believe in being friends with exes when you are in a relationship. Friends with the opposite sex that has always been platonic is a-ok.
I'm not interested in a booty call with you. I am interested in meeting someone with similar interests and views on life who isn't a homebody or a TV sports addict.
I always vote!
Cooking is one of my favorite hobbies. I can stand in the kitchen for hours after work and it doesn't feel like a chore to me at all (and I don't drink wine while doing so).
I take my makeup off before going to the gym.
I don't believe in a white, bearded, long haired man in the sky. If you do, I'm ok with that, but I don't think we should talk about it. I do say Merry Christmas, but to me it's about decorations and time off work. My intention isn't to offend anyone. It's just how I feel.
I have all kinds of friends with all kinds of interests so I don't expect you to do everything I like with me. I am so grown up, I am comfortable doing things on my very own! Yeah, I also think it's great if you have friends that you spend time with.
In my experience, it is not easy to find someone who drinks occasionally and also bikes, kayaks, hikes, and is otherwise active. I find a lot of people drink daily or don't drink at all. If I had only those two choices, I'd choose the latter.
I can't say I would like to get married until I meet the man I want to marry.
I'm not ok with recreational drug use at all. Not even pot. And I'm not interested in having a debate on the fact that alcohol and tobacco are drugs and no different. I used to smoke cigarettes regularly, quit, started again occasionally, and am back to not smoking. So, I don't mind if you smoke, but I would like not to anymore.
If you think we have similiar interests/views and you have a great sense of humor and don't take yourself too seriously, but are happy with who you are and are also practicing self awareness to continually evolve, let me know! (I love the word "evolve"!) Thanks for reading if you've gotten this far!
I hope everyone finds the person that makes them even happier than they already are. :)
