I'm typically the person who ends up laughing when no one else is. Yes that's me. I appreciate simple, silly things that seem to go unnoticed a lot. And I have often been told that I have a way of making people feel welcome and at ease. That means a lot to me. I appreciate kindness and honesty and am always looking for it in others.
Aside from the obvious that we never really plan to be single at this age, there is a certain comfort in the confidence of knowing we don't have to play the same games we went through when we were younger. Thank Goodness!!
In 2011, I began riding a Harley for the first time and loved it. The end of my former relationship meant the end of riding and I do miss it very much. I belong to an owners group although I'm no longer an owner. That is not something I am specifically looking for in someone else although it would surely be a plus. I'm a safe rider...not in the habit of riding and drinking. I just really enjoy the trips and of course...the freedom!
Bought a house in Festus last year and now I enjoy plenty of trees and a million stars.
When it comes to movies and music, I have to say I'm an 80's girl and I've seen many concerts. Not as many these days. Although I was fortunate to see Roger Waters do "The Wall" a few years ago. Amazing!! I'm actually across the board and listen to everything. It seems the older I get the more I seem to gravitate towards the music I always know the words to. I still enjoy new music. But the feel good stuff seems to make the commute to and from work a little easier. I did plenty of jamming back in the day and listened to my share of hair bands and classic rock. Sure there will always be a pre-set in every car I own for KSHE. But I also listened to new wave 80's back then. I actually have Missing Persons, Psychadelic Furs and The Fixx in my car. At the same time, I also have plenty of country as well. My son turned me on to Josh Turner and I'm a big fan. Love all movies. Always enjoy shows at The Fox and Powell. I was able to see the symphony do a Led Zeppelin show in 2012 and it was fantastic! I've got some favorite TV shows as well. Sons Of Anarchy, Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, Big Bang Theory, American Pickers, Weeds. And I miss the Sopranos!
I grew up with a lot of nature. Jumping on the bike or in the car and just taking a drive for no reason to the middle of nowhere is wonderful for me. And I've always wanted to see the Grand Canyon. It's on the "wish list". My best vacations will not typically be on a beach somewhere but on the road or headed in to the mountains or across country. Don't get me wrong, the ocean is beautiful and I'd love to see it again. But if I suddenly found myself with a long weekend and some extra money, I wouldn't be headed for Florida.
I have a son graduating from college this year who is the most amazing man I've ever known. He's incredibly good to me. I'm so very lucky. He's kind and generous and a really good person to be around. I've been saying since he was just a little guy that he's the best thing about me and I'll be saying that until my last day.
I'd really like to find someone that is established in their career whatever it may be. If you are fortunate to know where you stand in your career and where you are going, you know what I'm talking about. And I say that gently knowing that many people have experienced unfortunate set backs over the last 5 years through no fault of their own.
In the last 6 months I felt the need for some changes and began exercising regularly. Losing weight is great and I'm enjoying the new lifestyle. I can still enjoy a burger and wings! But I'm trying to be healthy as well. That said, I do love to cook and can certainly appreciate that quality in a man.
I'm hoping this finds it's way to someone truly honest and kind that appreciates the same in return with plenty of laughter. I'd like to meet someone who has a plan for the future and wants to enjoy life.
