I'm headstrong. I always listen and consider advice and recommendations from others, but in the end I make my own decisions and do what I love. I'm not afraid of taking the path less traveled. I am driven by happiness, not money (well, a little bit by money but not entirely). I'm honest and straightforward. I'm also restless - I'm always looking for the next adventure or exploration. I'm looking for someone with strong character who is determined to forge their own path, and is not afraid of taking (smart/calculated) risks. I like different - it's interesting. First and foremost I'm looking for awesome friends to explore the Santa Fe-ish area with (ski buddy anyone???!!!!!), but I'm up for dating if it's right. Message me if you are open-minded, energetic, motivated, and optimistic about (our?) the future!
So when I was in China ...
my entire office went on a weekend trip to a "waterpark" in the mountains on a river. I use "waterpark" loosely since it was a parking lot with two water slides that dumped you into the river. Our adventure started when they told us to stand in 2 lines in the parking lot w/ our hands touching. A "drill sargent" type guy then proceeded to stretch us out a la sports team. When's the last time you did that at a waterpark? Then they told us to turn around and -SURPRISE!- they sprayed us down (very enthusiastically) with fire hoses. This of course started a huge waterfight in the parking lot, after which we went down the first water slide on innertubes - pretty typical. However, never a dull moment -- one of my friends managed to accidentally kick another of my friends in the face and give him a bloody nose. He bled all over his lifejacket and in the water. No one seemed concerned, which immediately heightened my concerns about the already extremely questionable water quality. Then we proceeded en masse to slide #2 which we went down in rubber boats, my friend screaming like she was about to die in my ear. Then we had a boat race up the river! If you knew how to paddle your chances of success were much higher, which made me feel good, but I forgot to account for the current and the fact that my partner had never rowed before and that rubber boats are a lot like bumper cars .... needless to say we didn't win, but we were the only girl-girl team to even make it to the finish line (I know that's not a sentence, don't judge me). First prize was a LIVE CHICKEN, second prize was dried bamboo to cook with the chicken. Possibly the best - or worse - prize ever, but definitely unique. After the race, we all took our boats down the "dragon" -- kinda like a really big sewer pipe. I was really excited; my partner was not. It turns out she was right -- the water flow was wrong somehow so we would hit one wall with the bow of the boat and bounce of and then hit the other wall and back and forth and back and forth like a pinball down the entire length of the 200' tunnel. Combined with my partner's screams at every bounce, it was very jarring. The last part of our sequential waterpark experience was a river float. Sounds peaceful, right? Well, it was - until you reached the 45 degree dropoffs and the boat pitched bow first into a frothing mess of waves and rocks. Actually, who am I kidding, that was fun too. Ahh, good times ...
