They say you want to have “attraction rather than promotion”. Unfortunately, I don’t often see single heterosexual men that I can attract. I guess that leaves me with promotion.
I’m single, never married. I have a dog, his name is Rocket. I walk Rocket twice a day, every day, no matter what the weather. I’m the kind of dog owner who buys her dog a special treat for Christmas, but not the kind that would actually WRAP the special treat and put it under the tree.
I work in a non-profit that focuses on children. I don’t actually work with the children, but I like kids. In general, kids like me. I’m well known amongst the neighbor children because of Rocket. And they are a fierce neighborhood watch! I have two nieces, two nephews. My family name is Nanny. Everyone calls me that, including my siblings and my parents.
I’m not sure if it is working in a non-profit for twelve years, or the fact that I earn a non-profit salary, but I think that too many people are consumed with consuming. They always think that bigger means better or “need” the latest gadget. I often encourage people to do more with less. I write a gratitude list daily reminding myself that I have what I need and I certainly have enough. I love the peacefulness of my home. I don’t have cable, a computer, or gaming system. I’m not against those that have cable, computers, or gaming systems. I just know that if I did have those things, they would suck my time and I would read less or talk to actual people less often.
What I do in my spare time is that I exercise at the gym, go for walks, read books. I practice a spiritual program. I watch DVD’s of movies or television series that I want to watch. I have watched Mad Men, Breaking Bad, Nurse Jackie, Dexter, etc. I’m just usually seasons behind because I get them one disk at a time, old school.
It sounds a little boring but contentment usually does sound boring. I’m pretty content in my life. If I find someone to share my life with, that would be awesome. Now, I realize this makes me sound very granola and quiet. I am often loud and laughing with people. I blast my radio. I talk for a living.
I'm looking to go out with someone who would be interested in good conversations, occasional walks, and someone who enjoys going out to dinner on a Saturday night. If that sounds like fun, let me know!
