I like to think I'm a fun person, but I'm generally pretty soft-spoken and shy starting out. Some people might see that as being aloof or standoffish, but it's really just me being shy. I generally am most outgoing around folks I know well. Doesn't take me long to warm up to people, so long as they show an interest. After that, look out: you may not be able to shut me up.
I wear my heart on my sleeve. I love deeply and passionately, and am ultimately looking for a serious relationship with someone who is ready to love and settle down, not someone who just wants to fool around. Been there, done that, not interested. I want someone to share my life with every day. I want to meet that special person who's going to be what I look forward to throughout my day. The one I can share everything with, who will be my best friend. To laugh and have fun with, to go out and live it up, or to just chill out at home in ugly flannel pajamas. I'm low maintenance. Diamonds and jewelry don't get me excited so much as nice words and kind gestures. And I'm not one of those crazy women with 1,000 pairs of shoes. I'd say I probably only have about 30 pairs of shoes....
I have many interests. My first love is horses. I was a professional rider and horse trainer for several years back east (show hunters/jumpers, fox hunting, eventing...pretty much the most dangerous well-dressed sports ever conceived). So expect that funny horse smell, mud, dirt, horse hair. Not all the time though; I am capable of showering and looking pretty...I also vacuum my car from time to time. I don't ride professionally anymore, but I still keep it as a beloved hobby and my anchor. I haven't had my own horse in several years, but I hope to get one again in the next year or so.
My next love is ice hockey. I've been a fan of the sport since I was 10 years old (GO NEW JERSEY DEVILS!). I've also been playing for several years. I'm a goaltender, and have an immense love for that position. Something about frozen rubber flying at me at 85 mph helps me to relax from my work day. I'm competitive in net, but just play for fun. When things are going wrong in my life, I'm either at the barn or at the rink.
I can dress up or down. I do everything from formal evening dresses to muddy boots and jeans. I love the performing arts (musicals, concerts of many varieties, plays, etc). I love music (many genres), movies, and art. I appreciate culture and enjoy experiencing it. Like I hinted above, I also enjoy staying home and having quality time with my couch. I'm not a big night clubber. Don't mind going to bars with friends, but it's not where you'll find me most of the time.
I'm in human resources and travel for work from time to time. I love my work and have a passion for it, but I don't live to work. I work hard in order to play hard. I'm working on my Masters degree and hope to have that done in the next two years. I consider myself ambitious - I want to achieve great things through my work, and I can appreciate someone who is equally ambitious in their profession.
