I grew up in the Midwest, received my Bachelor's from the University of Kansas (Rock Chalk!) and moved to the Seattle area about 5 1/2 years ago for work. I also received my Masters in Engineering from UCLA. I love the Seattle area! I am so fortunate to have such an amazing, crazy career and friends and I can't get enough of the outdoors. I absolutely love my job as a Flight Test Engineer. Even though it can get insane at times, things are always exciting. My family may live 2000 miles away but my friends have become my family. I really couldn't ask for better friends. When not working, my hobbies include hiking, kayaking, camping, bartending, tubing, traveling, dive bars, board and card games and finding new breweries and wineries. When weather permits, I try to find a hike to do every week, whether to a waterfall or lake or something with higher altitude for a view. I love to go out and find new places (restaurants, breweries, parks, you name it) but I also really enjoy a relaxing evening at home, ordering in and watching a movie. On a typical summer Friday night you can find my hanging out with my friends/neighbors around bonfire or playing games, just enjoying each others company. And of course I love college basketball being from Kansas! I also love football (pro and college). It's the reason that I have cable. I don't really follow other sports often although I love going to hockey, baseball and soccer games. I love to travel. I haven't had a chance to travel much in my past and this is a big area in my life that I wish to explore more. I enjoy short weekend get-aways as well as longer vacations to further destinations. If you asked my friends to describe me they'd probably say "genuinely nice" or " extremely caring." Some have also said that I'm "a mess" or "unlucky" due to the mishaps and situations I tend to find myself. I probably should work on my situational awareness, haha. At least things are always interesting! I also tend to have a sarcastic sense of humor. I am much more comfortable in jeans and a sweatshirt than designer cloths but I will dress up if the occasion calls for it. Plus it is fun to do...every once in awhile. I am also more comfortable in a Dive or Sports bar versus a dance club, although I have been known to rock some, especially in Vegas. =) Music is very important to me and it gets me through workouts at the gym as well as my long daily commute. I listen to a little bit of everything but primarily I listen to modern/hard rock and some heavy metal. I'm looking for someone special to share adventures with. Someone who is happy with who they are and treats others with respect. I guess I am looking for a "good guy" who is not afraid to try new things and isn't afraid to be a little quirky.
