I'm a caring person with a big heart, looking for someone who can't wait to come home to me at the end of the day. I can be serious, but also incredibly silly once I'm comfortable with someone. I love to travel.
I try to keep a good balance among work, family, friends, and self-improvement. That being said, sometimes one of those gets neglected in reality.
My health and overall fitness are very important to me. I have a love/hate relationship with running. I'm currently in the love state, mostly due to an app that tells me that zombies are running after me. I see a trainer weekly to work on my strength training as I find that I tend to let that aspect of fitness slide if I don't have someone pushing me consistently.
I'm originally from Connecticut and an all-around New York sports girl. The Yankees are generally my happy sports time during the year, whereas the Jets offer me perpetual disappointment during the autumn. It's a real give and take. :) The Rangers typically fall somewhere in the middle of that, when there's actually a hockey season, that is. (Yay for hockey coming back!!!) But I like to consider myself a good New Orleans transplant and have adopted the Tigers and will root for the Saints...as long as they're not playing at the same time as the Jets.
I love to dance. I've taken different forms of dancing my entire life from ballet to tap to hula to burlesque. I don't ask that you're a Fred Astaire, as I'm no Ginger Rogers, but I ideally would like someone who likes to dance even if you're not particularly good at it!
I'm a scuba diver, but unfortunately don't get the chance to dive very often. There is nothing more peaceful than being underwater and hearing nothing besides your own breathing. It's my personal heaven.
I absolutely love my job. I'm trained as a school psychologist and am currently completing my PhD. I've worked in schools, in clinics, in hospitals, and at universities. I'm currently working on a systems-level, doing consultation with state departments of education. It's a great job that provides me with opportunities that I never saw coming, but I do miss working with children every so often.
I think I have a good sense of humor. I've been described as witty, most definitely sarcastic, and maybe even a smarta**.
At the end of the day, I'm just looking to be happy. I'd like to share my life with someone who seeks the same balance that I do. It's important to me to have an intellectual conversation, be a goofball sometimes, and everything in between. I'm looking for someone to take road trips with me, watch football on Sundays, go for picnics with, and ask me how my day was. I'll always ask and legitimately care in return. :)
So if any of that sounds interesting to you, let me know! :)
