I dream of having an awesome, decked-out, fuel-efficient camper van for wide ranging adventures. For the weekend we could load up the dogs and go wine tasting in Amador, hiking on the Mendocino coast, or play in the snow at Tahoe. It’d be great if you’re comfortable roughing it a bit, but don’t mind a little luxury here and there. I can't remember the last time I was bored. Literally. I find life mesmerizing. I love Netflix but, like me, do you wonder how some folks find so much time to watch TV? I was conceived in Kenya, recently trekked through Turkey, and am looking forward to sipping sangria in Spain this fall. Closer to home, I enjoy taking my mutt Moxie on adventures and trail walks in the creek canyon that is my backyard. Hopefully you share my wanderlust, love of the outdoors, and fondness for pooches. And all that is not to say that I don't like to slow down, sit by the fire, and play backgammon. I love hosting friends for dinner parties and look forward to doing that with a partner. But I'm also fully committed to creating time just for the two of us. My friends and I have a running joke about how often our conversations start with "Did you hear that story on NPR...?" We're considering a moratorium on starting our sentences that way. If you’re curious about the world and human nature, I’m sure we’ll easily find things to talk about. I always strike up conversations with folks I encounter in my day. In fact, when I graduated from law school in NY, some of the folks who ran the neighborhood deli came out with me to celebrate. I’m looking for a partner who appreciates people from every walk of life and treats everyone with respect. My main addiction is live music – you can often find me dancing close to the stage. I enjoy a variety of music, but I’m more South By Southwest than Burning Man. And I have a weakness for karaoke. My go-to karaoke songs aren't exactly current, but "White Rabbit" and "Time Warp" always get the audience to their feet! I’m Buddhist-leaning. On a recent week-long silent retreat I found it refreshing and disorienting to spend a week totally quiet, without phone or email. Though, strangely, the thing I missed most was not being able to check the weather forecast. I have an amazing community, sweet home and interesting work here in the sierra foothills but I'd consider relocating for the right person. Together, let’s make the mundane things in life fun - like an everyday trip to the hardware store. And the fun things in life extraordinary.
