In his own words

Hey, I'm Drew. I'm a native of Cleveland, and have lived in LA for about 8 years now. I live by the beach, and while I was a bit reluctant to move to LA at first, I have come to love the beachy urbanism of my Westside life. I'm independent and adventurous, but am also grounded and have a good head on my shoulders. I'm easy going, sarcastic, and people tell me funny. The most common adjective used to describe me is "nice". I'm also ambitious and work hard-- I guess its the midwesterner in me. I grew up in a pretty grounded and "normal" family--my parents have been together for 40 years--and I am looking for that for myself. I love adventure, and am willing to take the path less traveled. When I was "supposed to" head to college in New England, I chose a lesser known college in North Carolina. Junior year as my friends all headed abroad to Italy and Spain, I chose to spend a semester trekking around Nepal, living with Sherpas and studying rhinos and elephants. When I graduated, instead of moving to New York or DC like my friends, I took a teaching job in deep southern Louisiana, and had a blast. I moved to LA 8 years ago not knowing a soul. I'm happiest when I'm active, and have trekked in the Peruvian Andes, worked on a dig at a Roman archaeology site, ballooned over Burma, danced at Carnival in Panama, and explored cities and trails all over the world. I’ve been to over 30 countries, and can’t wait to see more, and revisit some of my favorites. I also enjoy more local trips-- up the coast, into the desert, or just to a new neighborhood I haven't been to before. I work at a private school as a history teacher, administrator/counselor and swim coach. I love it. It's exhausting and stressful at times, but I wake up each morning to go work with talented and amazing kids. It probably goes without saying, but I love history and politics, and I am fascinated by the world and its people, places and cultures. I love to explore and learn: in books, at museums, in movies, on tv, and through travel. I read alot, enjoy cooking, spend time soaking up museums and art, love the theater, and try to check out all the new restaurants (and frequenting faves),--when i'm not sitting on the beach. I have trouble deciding if I like beaches or mountains better. Currently, Palisades Park is essentially my backyard, and the beach is a stone's throw away, and you can often find me there reading, walking, or just hanging out. I also skiing or hiking whenever I get a chance. I think water is my natural element, and I've been around it my whole life—as a swimmer and swim coach, sailing, boating, kayaking and canoeing, trying to surf, and SUP. I really want how to learn to dive. I'm outdoorsy and love to ski, camp, hike and explore-- but of late my library card, Netflix account and OpenTable app have been getting a lot more activity than my skis and tent. I’m equally as comfortable curled up on the sofa with my tv or a good book, dressing up for some city fun or spending the night under the stars and enjoying nature. I love to both play and watch sports, and am still pretty loyal to my Cleveland sports teams and watch games when I get the chance. I'm hoping to meet my best friend and partner in exploration, adventure, and quiet nights at home. Someone interested in the world around them and committed to making it better. A person who inspires me to go to new places, try new things and values learning. A woman who treasures family and friends; is intelligent, creative, curious, passionate, funny, and grounded; has a career that challenges and fulfills her and has some direction in life. Most importantly, I want to find someone with whom it doesn't really matter what we are doing, since we always have a great time because we're together

I like Cats, Dogs

I love both dogs and cats, but dogs are my favorite. I really want to get a lab or a golden--but I think having big dogs in small apartments is unfair-- they need grass and space. Hopefully in the not so distant future, though.
